Eatingt on the move

Posted on September 24th, 2009 by Nayab Naseer in Diet Logs, Healthy Eating

Eating on the move might become an indispensable fact of life for many in todays fast paced and busy lifestyle.

The best food to take for a long car or bus drive would be solid and dry foods that do not leave much waste and that does not require much handling. Fresh Fruits such as apple and others are a good option in this regard. Such fruits, besides being a great appetite filler, supply phytonutrients to the human body and also contain Vitamin C that help absorb nutrients from other foods.

Nuts such as cashews and almonds not only boost energy levels, but also enhances the body’s iron and calcium levels. Seeds such as pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds help also boost energy levels, and also enhance the body’s protein and zinc. Dried fruit, such as figs and apricots provide the body with valuable amounts of iron, fibre and calcium.

Other options include fortified breakfast cereals, a great source of vitamins, and Toast, a good source for energy, iron, vitamin B and calcium.
